Invitations
Since our wedding is not going to be the traditional wedding, we wanted something a little different for our wedding invitations, I searched the internet a lot to find something I liked. I eventually came across pocketfolds and decided we should do something like that.
We finally finished making them last week, they took a lot of work and hours but I think the end product was very pretty and everyone has commented how lovely and unusual they were.
Ready to be assembled!!
Stamping and embossing the invite.
Invitation closed!

Progress!
My blogs are few and far between but at least it means I have something to report!
Firstly: I ordered my wedding dress!! After umming and ahhing about a dress I'd seen and loved and then tried on in Florida and loved, I decided I should 'know' if it was the one so started browsing again and gathered a list to take to the bridal shop. I rang 1 shop who were very abrupt and did not stock such an 'old' dress, but then I called another who did have the dress I really wanted to try in stock BUT it ws being discontinued that day!! The shop closed at 4pm and we arrived at 3pm. I ordered the dress!!
The same week, we popped up to the Metro Centre and Monsoon had a one day sale on, as we were looking through, we spotted the bridesmaids dresses which Clare and Sophie tried on back in July. Both their sizes were there so I snapped them up hoping Dan would like them since he specifically said no to that colour!! Ooops!
My invitations have been designed and are in the process of being made, they were sent to a friend in Indiana and then came back with a man in Daventry and he had them for 2 weeks but now they are in my hands and they look great.
I've also bought flowergirl dresses for Alex & Aicha but I think they are going back and we're getting different ones.
And very importantly....WE BOOKED A VILLA!!
So we have somewhere to stay now!! Wohoo!

Less than one year to go!
Less than one year to go now!!
Since my last post, we have chosen a colour scheme, planned the invitations (I am making them now hence my post here today!!) I have chosen a dress and bridesmaid dresses providing it suits Clare!!
BUT we still have not booked a hotel in Zakynthos! Its so hard to choose, hotel? villa? apartment? tent?!! I thought I had chosen but Dan decides a villa is the way forward so we've been spending hours looking at villas and hotels and comparing. Villas are just so expensive though, but Dan says its our wedding and we won't have a honeymoon so a villa is a must!!!

Making a little progress
According to the ticker it is 1 year, 2 months and 6 days until our wedding day.
So far we have booked our venue in Greece, it took a while to choose a location, but as soon as we saw Kypseli, we knew it was the one. The wedding is booked for 5.30 on Saturday 26th September with a reception following at Vardiola restaurant.
We have sent out Save the Date cards, we had a good response from them and hopefully many of the people that we sent them to will come to Greece with us.

We have also booked our reception for when we get home, it will be a joint celebration with Hayley's grandparents as we are marrying on their 50th wedding anniversary. We have booked the Jersey Farm Country Hotel in Barnard Castle for 17th October 2009. The hotel have rooms on offer for our guests but only limited rooms as its quite small.
After a lot of deliberation we have chosen our attendants, Clare and Sophie will be Hayley's bridesmaids and Alex and Aicha will be flowergirls and Oliver will be a pageboy, Dave will be Dan's best man.
We are still debating a colour scheme, but Hayley is going shopping with the girls next week so they might make a decision then!!
